Below are custom bikes. The Independent Fabrication bikes are fully custom. On a true custom bike, every aspect of the bike in its entirety is built to meet the needs or answer the requests of the rider – the frame geometry, top tube slope, fork trail, etc, that make the bike ride a certain way and paint, graphics, etc., that represent the rider’s aesthetic. Also, Fitworks sells handmade custom track, triathlon and TT bikes by Dave Tiemeyer, who built the U.S. Team GT bikes for the ’92 and ’96 Olympics.
Along with the IF and Tiemeyer, Fitworks sells bikes that are built up around stock framesets with the choice of components that make the bike more personalized. Fitworks is the dealer in Arizona for the classic Italian bike, Cinelli.
Also, brand new for 2010, Kuota! Currently, we have a selection of demo bikes for test-ride purposes, including a Kebel, a Kharma, a Kalibur, K-Factor, and Kross. Call to set schedule a road test!
As always, we can order Giant framesets for custom builds.
With any new bike, we start with a comprehensive fit appointment to figure out the optimal size in the frame you want, and then based on the results, we order it and build to suit. There are no hard feelings if there is a bike you want that you have to buy elsewhere. In that case you would leave the appointment with positional specifications like a prescription that you would take to another bike shop to match to the bike you want. Along with selling a bike line with the word “Independent” in the name, the philosophy of Fitworks is to be as independent as possible in working with the cyclist and the bike of her or his dreams, with the goal of getting the correct bike set-up to hold the cyclist in the most effective position.
